No place like home (By NFL.com)

3/13/06

I returned home from Arizona a little more than a week ago, and it is great to be home.

With the Combine completed, the next thing on the schedule was our Pro Day at Clemson. I did all the position drills that day. All the seniors who came in with me as freshmen participated, and I think it went well. I hope some of the other guys get noticed, too.

Being back home in South Carolina has been nice. I've been able to catch up with a lot of friends and my family and all the people from my town, St. George.

On March 11, they had a special day for me, which was great. I got the key to the city and a bunch of other nice gifts. It was fun to see all the people from the city come out. As I said last time, it's a small community and everyone here knows everyone else, so they've all been following my career since I was in school here. It was really more of a celebration for everyone than just to honor me, at least that's how I felt.

Now for the next few weeks, I am just taking it easy. I'm still training regularly to keep in top shape.

I spend some time at Clemson and some time back here in St. George. When I'm at home, I usually go over to my old high school and work out there. It's good to be able to see all the old familiar faces from home.

The next thing on my schedule for the draft will be personal workouts for teams. Some teams that think highly of you will call you and come down to spend time with you and work you out themselves. It's only fair -- they want to spend money on you, they should be able to see what they're getting ahead of time.

I'm enjoying being home and seeing where the draft takes me in another month.

Talk to you all soon.
